Audiology and speech

  • The Audiology Department consists of an audiometer to measure the hearing level of adults, children and newborns. There are also balance units and rehabilitation of balance disorders.
    The Speech Department is characterized by examining and imaging the larynx to detect minor defects that may affect the vocal folds of patients with hoarseness, conducting vocal training sessions and sessions for post laryngectomy patient, diagnosing and treating delayed language development in children and speech defects

    3- Audiometry test for newborns by using induced voltage.

Kidney Diseases and Transplant Center

  • The Nephrology Department provides integrated health care with the highest medical standards for patients with acute and chronic renal failure, Nephrology disease and glomerulonephritis resulting from immune and non-immune diseases such as diabetes and Hypertension.
    The department deals with kidney transplant cases under the supervision of a group of consultants and specialists .

People of Determination Evaluation Center

  • The Armed Forces Medical Complex in Alexandria, in cooperation with the Ministry of Social Solidarity, has implemented an integrated center to evaluate people of special needs of different disabilities who wish to obtain a disability proof card and integrated services. The Center includes specialized medical committees to conduct medical examination for (motor, mental, auditory, and visual) disabilities and hematologic diseasesto evaluate people of determination with ease, accuracy and speed in implementing procedures and to facilitate obtaining the integrated services card from the Ministry of Social Solidarity
  • The Center also includes a set of services needed by the service applicant such as (radiology of all kinds, medical tests of all kinds, an integrated center to conduct electromyography, psychological testing center and measurement of intelligence, audiology unit and balance examination) within the framework of the attention of The Armed Forces Medical Complex to facilitate procedures for obtaining the service with ease.To register for the service, please follow the link below:

parenteral nutrition unit

  • The Medical Complex at Mustafa Kamel is characterized by providing this service at the highest level of accuracy and quality under the supervision of a specialized medical staff, recognizing the importance of proper nutrition for patients undergoing this type of nutrition; including patients after major operations of the digestive system, open heart surgery and heart valve replacement, patients after emergency surgeries...etc.
    The Medical Complex has various and modern means that are globally recognized for parenteral nutrition, whether separate or comprehensive, for all the nutritional elements that the patient may need.

Clinical pharmacy unit

  • The Clinical Pharmacy Department manages the use of the medicine in the complex, which promotes the safe and optimal use of medicines through:
    • Organizing, managing and using the medication to meet to meet the needs of patient.
    •Antimicrobial stewardship to improve the process of prescribing and using antimicrobials to reduce the appearance and spread of resistant bacteria and achieve better results for patients.
  • In addition to:
    •Developing a list (known as the Medication Guide) for all medications that exist in the complex based on prevalent diseases, different specialties and evidence of effectiveness, safety and drug interactions, adverse effects of drugs ,and serious errors; and it is updated annually.
    •Following up the dispensing of high-risk medicines and medicines similar in shapeand pronunciation in a way that ensures that the risks to the patient are reduced to the lowest possible degree.
    •Checking the compatibility between medicines in all places of care in the complex by reviewing all requests for medications to ensure their accuracy and suitability for the patient before dispensing them.
  • Finally:
    •Ensuring that the medication is given in a safe manner, including checking the following: presence of a medical prescription, correct identification of the patient, correct medication, reasons for using the medication, correct dosage amount and regimen, correct method to take the medication regarding the appropriate time and frequency, reviewing whether the patient is allergic to any medication mentioned in the prescription.
  • The Clinical Pharmacy Department prepares all protocols for oncology and hematology patients in accordance with international standards in order to maintain the safety of patients and the medical staff of the complex.
    The Clinical Pharmacy Department also prepares the necessary parenteral nutrition for patients inside the complex.
    The Clinical Pharmacy Department also provides training programs for students of faculties of clinical pharmacyat the Egyptian Universities.
