ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT

The Department of General Surgery provides excellent medical care to all patients and deals with emergency cases around the clock by a group of consultants and specialists to manage critical and complex cases, oncological cases and non-emergency cases through outpatient clinics.

One of the functions of the Department of General Surgery :

  • Receiving emergency cases and dealing with them immediately (appendectomy - exploration of the abdomen in cases of intestinal obstruction or Perforated stomach ulcers - dealing with cases of acute pancreatitis in addition to repairing wounds and minor surgical cases)..
  • General surgery cases (repair of all types of hernia surgically or laparoscopically – cholecystectomy surgically or laparoscopically – anal surgery)..
  • Gastrointestinal Oncology Surgeries (tumors of the stomach, esophagus and colon – soft tissue oncology surgeries)..
  • Endocrine surgeries (thyroidectomy, salivary glands and lymph nodes)..
  • Breast surgery: Early detection of breast tumors and cosmetic breast surgery in cooperation with the plastic Surgery..
  • Obesity surgeries (sleeve gastrectomy – diversion)..
  • diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopes (emergency endoscopes around the clock for ligation and injection of varicose veins of the esophagus and stomach and inject bleeding ulcers – upper gastrointestinal endoscope and colonoscope – ERCP)..
